Howdy folks

Im looking to get a set of spoked wheels made for my G650X Moto to do some trail riding on it

I want it to be a quick in and out wheel change job so i want to keep existing calipers/mounts etc, it has a good enough sus set up so i'd just like to throw maybe a 21" front and 18" rear on there if possible, i have seen it done in the US, pictures below, anyone any ideas where to go in this fine land?

Cheers

John Bell , Lisburn Road , Belfast .
Sorry i dont have a number . He works from his house so ,i dont think a drive in drive out would be an option. In fact i dont believe i have ever seen a
drive in drive out wheel building service..

Cheers

But i meant i just want to be able to quickly change the wheels from road riding to off roading riding, as in i dont want any other changes other than the wheels

Cheers, may give him a bell

if can find hubs your sorted as likes rugged roads willget you rims and spokes and save lot compared paying someone build one

but feck that

just buy a 1k or 1.5k trail bike and save destroying your clean bike

You might want both. The small bike is the easy way easy picked up and easy managed. However there are those of us who occasionally like to punish ourselves on the larger bikes and like the notion of a go anywhere machine . I suppose you pays your money ............... I totally enjoy taking the big bike off road but I have also recently invested in a smaller bike that I can go out alone on .

Does Leo O’Reilly Motorcycles on Lower Dorset Street do them ?

I'm thinking of having a go at it myself, I need to offset a rim by 25mm but I might chicken out and get it done professionally.

watch youtube and google it.

its rather simple actually once see basic pattern you can easily spot it on every wheel when lookign at bikes.

hardest part i found was getting them true so i paid lad 30e to true each wheel once built them

Are you using G650 hubs?

I dont think i can use BMW hubs, certainly cant use my own as they are cast rims and ive read that the G650X Challenge hubs wont fit

then i would buy a trail bike. cost custom hubs would cost fortune

a good set rimgs, spokes, new tyres, tubes, labour along would be 600e before add hubs

SM Pro rims and spokes are 320, tyres be 180, tubes 50, labour....god knows

pay 300 -500more and get a cheap xr400 or drz

I think you could be right, i would love an X Challenge or even G450X but bloody hell they are hard to find over here, 1 x challenge here but money is silly and a few 450's over in uk but travel doesnt justify itself
