Who is going to the Manchester Bike show

I have organised a stand for my marshalling club to recruit some new marshals to come to some of the local race meetings and don a pair of orange overalls and get to play with expensive (and often very smashed) bikes.

Come and say hello- its the Marshals Northwest stand near the back of the hall. Its got a posh BSB Fireblade on it- you cannot miss it.

I am there Friday and Sunday

The Manchester Bike Show is underwhelming and overpriced but, like a moth to a flame...so Sunday it is.

I`ve just got back from the show.

Once again,I enjoyed it.
My mate Zebb hasn`t been there for several years but he came with me and he enjoyed it too.

It always starts well for me....there`s something satisfying about bumping your bike up the kerb...parking on the pavement and walking straight in.

I`ve said it before but feel I must reiterate that if anyone goes expecting anything like the NEC Show they`ll be bitterly disappointed.

If you like looking at trade stalls for bits and bobs, some clothing or accessories, then you`ll probably have a decent and enjoyable time there.

There was quite a bit of empty space compared to some previous years but we still spent four hours there.

We bought a fair few goodies at good prices...Zebb got some custom made earplugs,a tankbag he`s been after, some very good 410mm tyre levers which you don`t often see for sale and some 2 for 1 Muc Off which we went halves on.
I got a helmet,a camo snowboard type top for my winter rallies, ordered a custom made outdoor cover to fit one of my Urals and a cool sidecar clock.

We had a good time...but then neither of us are particular fans of the plastic and phoney NEC glitz fest .

Going on Sunday, who's doing the custom ears and any deals on them :augie

I forget the name but when you enter the Show Hall, turn left and the stand was near the far left corner....just past the loos and opposite the No Fear (or was it On Fire? ) clothing tent/stall. :thumb2

bike show

I think I followed Tarka in to the show and coincedentialy out again(don't read anything into this!!)
I thought it was pretty empty ,and at £12 not decent value seeing as NEC is £15 as mentioned above plenty of tools ,cleaning stuff, clothes, but no outdoor show this year.Overall in my humble opinion pretty poor.Talking to the guy on the AA patrol stand he told me his piece of floor 10'by10' cost them £600 so not just the punters being ripped off, having said all that i'll most probably go again next year....its a bike thing.

bargain of the day Buff type half fleece neck tube £6 as opposed to £18 I paid got one for SWMBO,by the chamois leather man at back of hall.

Brian....

...

:blast You shoulda said hello to a complete stranger and asked them if they`re a tosser. :D :augie

To satisfy your curiosity,I was on my old unfaired GL1100 GoldWing and Zebb was on his Yellow 1150GS. :thumb2

Went today. Good show, but it's geting a bit too much like a market = cheap leathers / textiles / tools and owners club ie Kettle / Streetfighters appreciation society.

Still bought some tools and bits and pieces. But IMO needs to work out what it wants to be.
