I won this on ebay for a cheap price but I'm curious as to who really makes this and if anyone else has one...

Thanks...

Where's it fit?

It looks like someone called 'Robinson' knocked it up.... Or have I missed something here?

Supposed to fit over the oil pan, I reckon...

Hasn't been shipped to me yet... If it does fit, I'll install and take pics...

Hmmm.. Well, it nearly fits, i suppose.

it fits... the hole doesn't quite line up perfectly for oil checking, but other than that, its definitely a strong pan, also heavier than stock... not bad for $15.50 US via ebay...

Paint it yellow and put a Touratech sticker on it and it would have been $200. I quite like it and for $15 what have you got to loose? must have cost more than that for the steel.

Hmm. Having seen the photos, I'm not surprised that there's no maker's name!

If you want a nice one, try Nick Palmer's.

a nice one? one that protects and fits is nice for me... especially at the $15 price... let's just hope it does its job properly...

Sometimes this forum cracks me up.
There are numerous threads on which people adversely comment about service levels, costs of after-market goodies, bad trade-in prices, etc.
Someone then either makes a part themselves for a few pounds,or,as in my case with the underslung exhaust, shows that the conversion can be done for next to nothing.
They are either ignored or scorn is poured upon the item.
The sump guard could be tidied up easily,if needed, with a few hours time, what's the problem with it,fer chrissakes?
There was a recent thread about the price of huggers, and I revealed a few trade mark-ups,now a manufacturer has lowered the price a bit.
The average GS'er gets ripped all the way down the line, yet most assume that the highest priced item is the best quality!
Look at what is paid for regular servicing, the bikes are serviced by the dealer at an hourly rate that is unbelievable, then the owner finds problems and is directed by members of the forum on how to cure the problems himself!
These bikes ain't rocket science!
Sorry, this has turned into a rant,if the moderator deems necessary, move the reply to the Rant forum, and apologies if my reply is considered to have hijacked the thread.

Good idea,Greg.
Could get them from the local market for few euros, but I think Touratech ones for 3 times the price will taste better,or am I just paying the extra for image?
