If you intend doing any offroad, ever, or selling the bike to someone who might want to go offroad, or if you want the bike to look nice......

Spoked rims all the way!!!

(wonder will anyone notice I like spoked rims?)

I prefer alloys, as I don't like spending hours cleaning & checking spokes. Alloys are fine for light rough but if you plan to do "stump jumping" & "quarry diving" go for spoked rims (as they can be beaten back to shape when bent). In my opinion the 12GS is a road machine that looks like an offroader !.
Go for alloys (and save money).
;)

I've heard several people who went for alloys wish they'd gone for the spokes, but none the other way around.

I'd get spokes.

Alloys, unless you love spending ages cleaning spokes :( Although the spokes do look good.

What wheels?

Spokes of course
Gs,s look really cheap on alloys and I would think the resale value will reflect this. Mike.

Spokes of course - they're more rare than those poofta alloys ;) :D

The labour of cleaning spoked wheels isn't much bigger if you get the right brigade of brushes and other tools. :)

I chose spokes for the coolness factor - I love the fact that you can change a spoke without taking the wheel off :D

If you're not bothered about the money, go for spoked wheels - if you'd rather have a gadget or beers, go for the alloys. :)

It all depends on the colour.....

If you are going to get a gurlie yellow bike, get spokes....looks better IMHO.

If you are getting the boring Blue.....Alloys, and if you are getting the really cool red one, it has to be alloys. Sooooo cool.

I've been green laning, track stuff, ireland where the roads are shite, and France where the roads are good....and the alloys have been no touble at all.

But make your own mind up!!:D

I have wires and I DON'T spend HOURS cleaning them - and I keep a VERY clean bike - that gets ridden in the rain. Alloy wheels are easier to clean but not that much easier. (I have alloy wheels on another bike.)

One of each?
Who's going to decide which is spoked, the front or the rear?
