Who would go out and buy another 1200gs...please be honest.

Will tell you after I have had the test ride on the K1200R I have booked for the weekend after next :D :D

Not me, nothing wrong with the bike, just loved the K1200s when i test rode it. If the naked r version is as good, that will be my next bike. Or maybe an MT-01 , now that had a stunning engine.

I have had mine for 5 months and 3800 miles - the bike has many good points and is the best all-rounder that I have ever owned. However I would not buy another one. I would spend 1/2 the money on an old 1150gs (an adventure if I could find one for the price) then I'd raid the piggy bank to buy a Ducati 998, or a Bimota, or... something that is beautiful to look at as well as good to ride (for short distances)

JUST DID

I bought two R1200-GS's a year ago, one for my son and one for myself, my bike has functioned to perfection, no claims whatsoever in 14,000 KM.
The other one has had serious problems with the ralenti valves in two opportunities. (It self accelerates itself when you less expect it)
I just decided to trade it in for a new one which will be delivered to me next week.
So, I guess we love these bikes, and believe that problems have (mostly) been sorted out during the first 18 months of production.

YES

15,000 trouble free fun filled sMiles. Glad I did it and would buy one again if I had to.

I only have 400 k on mine and I am loving it. I have not been on rough roads yets. I am doing that tomorrow.

So far the 1200 has more than I expected, so I would say yes.

North :)

I would buy another GS1200 tomorrow if say mine was stolen, written off etc. I may Part-ex it for an R1200GS Adventure in the future, if one is ever made. I don't fancy an HP2.

It is a great machine, a real do-it-all bike and complemented nicely by still owning my old Yamaha YZF600R 'Thundercat' (another much under rated bike).
