Ok, got myself a lovely new set of Wunderlich heated seats (plug and play) for my 22 1250GSA.
Removed old seats, plugged new ones in, nothing, no heat, but both show in TFT and front one is heat controllable,
So put old ones back on, exactly same thing, show in TFT etc but no heat?
Haven't been out, so all this was stationary in garage with engine running.
What gives? help, am i being thick?

2 things to think about.
1. What’s the state of the battery like ? Could it be a bit flat and the canbus is shutting that circuit down.
2. Do they need ‘coding’ to the bike ?

These are Plug and Play into the harness as long as the bike originally had a heated seat. Otherwise, you would need a retro-fit harness from Wunderlich - TMF did a video a while back.

However, given the old seats aren't heating either suggests the canbus is intervening, making sure the essentials function while the battery recovers from a low state after starting, as stever1 mentions.

Give the battery a good charge up & try again - this cold weather will have sapped it's CCA, but it should get warmer shortly.

In my BMW car, the heated seats will initially turn on, but quickly turn off again if no one is sat in them. Could be the same for the bike.

Yep - the elements can overheat if they're just heating themselves as they're designed to heat a human's backside. Whether they're pressure sensitive I don't know but given the seat covering material it would make sense!

I think this is the case, ISTR that someone on here posted his rear heated seat wasn't working and I think that was due to it not being sat on.

Stick a multimeter across the terminals and see if you have continuity ..

if its a simple 2 wire plug it should be easy

4 wires would suggest some additional circuitry (pressure pad etc)

I can understand it for a car, as you can link it to the seatbelt cuircuit beeper

Bikes ??? hmmm
