Why are images sometimes blocked?

To those in the know - why do I see this corner folded page icon in place of an image so often? It started occurring about a month ago, for whatever reason!
It doesn't do it with all images but certainly far more than it ever did before!

I have just posted an image of an Opel Manta and a ship in dock on another thread, where I dare say most, perhaps all readers, can see the image , yet I can't?

My lappy has CCleaner installed, Spybot, AVG .... or is it related to graphics card , memory perhaps?
My HD has barely had the surface scratched so I can't see that being an issue , yet I often have warnings on my surfing that my PC is running slow, and as coincidence would have it, also in the last month or so.

Are dark forces at work here?

That's the kiddie! What did I do wrong? I don't usually have difficulty with posting images, just plenty of issues with viewing other peoples images , as displayed with that little icon in the OP.

Edit: So dark forces ARE at work then!

Still doesn't explain why others can see images that I can't!

Not sure where you got that original code from, it was totally wrong.

I have had two episodes of utter bullshit HTML code popping up today Paul.....both on trying to quote a post in a reply.......both referencing several other sites or outside sources.

I didn't copy it down and just worked around it...(I did try and quote it but predicatbly, the HTML wouldn't show)_).I'll PM you any further examples, but there may be a whole load of odd HTML stuff being included somewhere in the system

Not much help I know, but but do keep your eyes open- I do know what I'm doing (usually anyway ) and was quite surprised to see it all come up....it was word file related IIRC, which I think we've seen before.....can't remember in what context, but as above, I'll screngrab it next time
