Ange wanted to go for a bit of a wet trail ride today and I couldn't be arsed to get the Husaberg out so thought I'd give the 1100 a shot on worn Tourances.

A bit squirrally at times but so much easier to ride than an 1150ADV, whoever would've thought an 1100 off road could be described as light and small but that's how it felt......comparatively

Ange's TTR started playing up and I found the carb was flooding so sorted that and we were off again

I was hoping the river would be a bit more interesting after the rain

But there obviously hadn't been enough rain

It can be pretty deep here but today not much more than a puddle as she confidently crosses

My turn with an ever hopeful Ange holding the camera

No more photos but a lovely ride and very impressed with the 1100 on slippy trails. Time for a change of tyres I think

Looks like a nice ride. Its almost strange to see a GS off road in a ride report these days. I remember a few years ago regularly posting up similar little write ups after taking either the 1100 or 1150 out for a few hours.

Currently negotiating on a new bike so hopefully not long till I'll be out again

Certainly interesting with those tyres on when it's wet!
It's been a while since I've taken one of my GSs on an offroad ride, it make a nice change from riding full on Enduro bikes in the dirt

If I was in those pics and had to chose a bike, I'd chose your partners rather than a GS. Look alot more nimble. In other words, If I were to go green laning/off roading I still wouldn't use my GS but a dirt bike instead. GS too heavy.

Yeah, Timolgra always uses the wrong bike... someone needs to teach him what to use and when its appropriate. bloody newbies!

Not only does he always use the wrong bike, he stops on 90% of the time, most surprised to see his partner didn't get wet and have to stop and dry [strip] off

Last weekend I was at the Tourarech Travel event and I went around the BMW off road course on my 1200 GSA with Tourances two up. Most of the time it was ok as its gravely but there was enough mud and slime to know I was on the wrong tyres

It didn't stop me going up and down the big silly hill though

Loads of fun and thats what its all about.

'So smooth' You're too kind Tim, its just because I'm so relaxed the bike does all the work and I'm just there for the scenery
