I lived in Scotland for four years. I enjoyed walking the hills and driving on some of the roads around Rannoch Moor and Oban. Besides that it was just the novelty factor of working in the Castle. I have been back a few times since but the weather is a real dampner on some beautiful scenery.

Cloudy out and the forecast is rain tomorrow. Looking forward to it to be honest and its cooled down more than a tad here. Still like Scotland tho

I came up for a few days on the bike six weeks ago and stayed at Fort William. I am in love with the place. The weather was evenly divided between shit and glorious- it didn't matter, I enjoyed the roads, the weather, the people, their accents and all this despite having had a little mishap when the bike fell over while I was getting off it to take a picture and broke my Achilles tendon up by Bealach na Ba on the climb over to Applecross. The assistance and sympathy I got from Julie, the landlady at the Applecross Inn cemented my opinion of the Scots, brill- I love you all!
Come to think of it, the ride up over Rannoch Moor was rather exciting, see my post later that day-

My only reservation about the country are the midges, voracious little bastards that they are, mercifully I wasn't bitten once this time, no doubt they'll catch up the next time I come up.
