I have an irritating sound coming from the screen / front assembly, it's like something pressuring against polysterene. It's the noise you get on buses when they hit bumps and it's driving me mad in a small annoying way.

Anyone else had this and how did you solve it because I can't hear exactly where it's coming from? I have the GSA screen fitted (yes correctly!) and everything is nice and tight.

I'm going to Greece for four weeks on the thing shortly and am trying to iron out the little things before hand. Cheers. Andrew

I do hope you have adequate insurance and medical cover :augie
Preferably NOT Carole Nash:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Funny you should post this as I have the same or similar annoying rattle. To me its making a noise like my visor is loose and is rattling in the wind. But I know its not that. Its not the screen either because if I hold this with one hand the rattle continues. Its really annoying me as everything seems buttoned down tight. With the helmet on its really difficult to pinpoint the noise - so I just ordered an Akra can to cure it.

Only started after the 6K service as well so something has been loosened somewhere.

Fitted the Nippy Norman lower screen mounty bits: Front middly bit. Bit dear at £35 ish, but stops the standard screen shaking like ...well shaking....also keep checking your knurled adjuster nuts... now that the steed is approaching the half century the screen seems to be trying to retire, every run....

:beerjug:

Remove the bottom screen mounts and refit them with some clear silicon sealer in the hole and around the pin/o ring.

Thats what SPC did on mine, worked a treat.

apart from that they were fecking useless but credit where credits due.

I had something sounding very similar, only thing I found stopped it was a quick squirt with WD40 around the 2 metal locating lugs that the beak sits on - good luck!

OK :thumb2 I'll do that in the morning and see if I get lucky.

Those are the cylinder parts the beak "slots" onto? I'll have a go at insulating them as well if so.

Get it fixed, or you will come acropolis on the Rhodes out there and end up blowing bubbles, wishing you were Homer.

Remove the bottom screen mounts

When you do this you will note that the Plastic type washer has
{two per side}worn.
I got a Rubber Bush type Washer and new std plastic pair and re-assembled .
This is the Cure ,

I cant for the Life of me , figure what/how this noise is in any way
connected to a Bus ,
A properly maintained bus ,doesnt make "Noises"

Can Bus got anything to do with it?

I'll get me coat.
