at around 65 - 70 mph my Gs doesn't half moan sounds like a washing machine when the bearings have gone, any ideas?? I know they do make some odd noises it's quite warm where I am around 30 degs ish most days. Can't feel anything wrong wheel bearing wise at the front, box oil done and the rear FD, engine oil fresh.

Thanks

Iain

Change the front tyre and see if the noise changes.

Tyres are new ish conti road attack 3, the front hasn't worn much as i can still see the imprint of the name in the tyre, by all accounts it's another noise they make then?

I've got a Road Attack 2 upfront and Trail Attack 2 at the rear, they run pretty quiet.
My old Single Cam was running Pirelli STR's and they made it sound as though the Final Drive was on the way out.
(Great tyres though!)

Tyres do seem to make a difference. That and the kind of helmet you wear . A tour cross exacerbates the noise as the peek catches the noise , my Arai Ram seems loads better . That and ear plugs

AS above, tyres, and resolve by using ear plugs, mine is the same!

If the washing machine is moaning, I'd say leave the wife off pillion. :hide

most of the sound is amplified by the tunnel leading up to the bars...if you go over a nice bit of new tarmac the sound disappears.. ear plugs are a must on these bag of spanners
The bloke who can design a good deflector to eliminate most of the noise is on to a winner

You running Anakee 3's, they whine like a 3 year old who's dropped an ice-cream.

take the stupid screen off and put some oil in the engine ?

has plenty of oil in it you mean remove the windscreen?

everyone else is on tyres - struck me as a bit odd, as I'd expect you to know if it was this, especially if you've had the bike for a while - I was more on a page of what suddenly changed enough you were worried enough to post a strange query

a few more clues from you about - the bikes condition, mileage, service history and your experience would help - so without that I think a few replies got tongue in cheek - so I threw an obvious design feature out there these bike have that makes you go deaf and wobble all over the road - seats and screens are just something BMW have absolutely no idea about

What oil:D:D
Though it does make a difference
In hot weather mine rattled awfully with fully synthetic power one Castrol.
15/50 or 20/50 semi synthetic is much better for hot climates

+ 1 on Ear Plugs!
I loved the sound of my OHV and TC GSA's, until I rode off without the Plugs in one day.
FECK ME!!!! Never again!!!
