You know the bit of pipe behind the cat and before the end can.

On my bike it has already gone very brown .. like it is completely rusted.

Is that "normal"? :nenau

Is it because I didn't treat it with that ACF stuff?

Super hot (behind the cat) and SS = discolouration (plus it's a hard to get to bit so prob not cleaned as well/much as the rest of the pipe).

Yep just the way stainless discolours.ACF would not help would just burn off in the heat. However Hein Gericke do some stuff that restores the colour of Stainless. We have some "pickleing Paste" at work which we use to clean up stainless when we have welded it.I have used it on my FZR600R Downpipes but only when they were off the bike.I could not vouch for what it would do to any other surface it contacted.
Try the Gerike stuff. But dont look online cos it aint listed. Is in the catalouge.

With stainless you can simply wet sand it with 2000grit and hand polish it back with rubbing compound....:thumb2

There's surely more important things in life to worry about!!

(yes - it's perfectly normal for it to go that colour and guess what..........only YOU will ever notice!!)

So, you can now sleep in peace. :beerjug:
