Why fully comprehensive?

According to a Google search, it is because insurers assess that those customers who inly buy limited coverage (ie less than fully comprehensive) are more likely to come into contact (literally) with a third party, than those that don’t.

Look at the positives though. If an insurer is prepared to insure a vehicle fully comprehensively for less (ie cheaper) than they’d insure the same vehicle for limited coverage, that’s a plus, surely?
