Every single time I try and do anything to do with updating my 660 (although my 550 was no different) I end up in a battle of wills against my.garmin.com

It ALWAYS seems to be too busy to cope with the traffic, the website consistently fails to respond, or I get spurious error messages.

It drives me up the wall

It's probably because you're a grumpy old toad. I've never had any problems.....:P

You are using WebUpdater arent' you and you do have a fast connection...?

I have to say mine's always gone to plan, albeit that sometimes Pipex/Tiscali/whatever gives a connection so slow that it can take 17 hours to get the download.
My big gripe however is that with two current units, a Zumo 660 and a Nuvi 765T - when the map downloads I have to redownload it again. The other unit isn't allowed the downloaded update to be installed.
But if there's a way round that issue, Schtum will keep me right...:flag

Oi. Less of the old you :D

Really?

You are using WebUpdater arent' you and you do have a fast connection...?

Hmmm....

Well, I've used webupdater to update the unit - it's the lifetime map updates I'm trying to get and apply......

Fast Connection - not brilliant, but is always at least 2mbps.

The site is clearly suffering...

Using JBoss so no real surprise....

They need some investment in load balancing....

Its probably all the people that got Garmin for Christmas!!!

Yer - that must have come as a real surprise to them, the way Christmas sneaks up on you and all.

They could increase capacity for the period - it is possible..............

Got to Garmin UK page no problem. 'My Garmin' - nothing. No error message, no tabs dispayed as above - just a white browser page.

I guess they are experiencing a high demand mind you!
