Why Klim rocks and why Rallye Suits suck

Well, I've got both.

Now don't get me wrong, I really like my Badlands but due to its greater versatility my 10 year old Rallye (Mk II) just about wins out as the better jacket.

doesn't start off well...

"Most motorcycle jackets are of the 'three-in-one' variety with a detachable waterproof layer, plus a removable thermal layer, both zipped into an outer shell."

no they're not :blast

i didn't bother reading past that.

I have a Held Gore tex pro shell suit with removable thermal liner. It's not a fashionable name but it works and its a true 4 season suit.

So have I and my go to summer touring suit is still my Rallye (but then I don't live in Northern Ireland, horses for courses, not better)

Yeah I have to agree. Every textile bike jacket I've had has been waterproof. The whole waterproof inner thing is new to me.

I've been banging on about this ever since I saw the light with Klim ... :D

One (bonded goretex) outer shell with armour .... then you decide how you layer underneath ... :thumb2

For once we are in agreement......:thumb2

I've ridden in -5 to +40 degrees in my klim suit and it works well once you realise that venting in hot weather is the worst thing you can do. Use the Goretex to keep in the cool and keep the heat out. Good layering is the key along with a forecourt hose pipe when it starts getting really warm.

Just read that article.

Pretty much aligned with many comments & opinions on this thread...

Hard to know what's "best", unless you can afford multiple solutions, as suggested somewhere in that thread.

Which one do you have? I rather like the look of the Cadora.
