Why so few orange 1100s

I'm afflicted by orange bike syndrome (not ktm) and have owned several, but not a GS. Liked the post today about the orange WC but really want an 1100. Only one that I can find for sale is four and a half grand and out of my price range. Did they not sell in large numbers in the UK?

Buy a cheaper different colour one and get it painted
I bought a white LC and got it painted Lava Orange
I have seen the occasional orange one on fleabay !

Yeah, I'd swap you but my rear seat flew down the motorway and got tramped upon by a bus. Catch was faulty

... and I've just noticed 3 very small cuts in my front seat. Bugger!
