For £300+ (HOW MUCH????) :eek

I tried one - it was badly made, didn't fit, was uncomfortable and the customer service was sh*te!

Just picked up my re-built seat from Tony Archer. My arse loves me!!!!

And all for £80... Yes, I could have 4 of these well-crafted, good looking, really comfortable, non-slip, well-fitting, custom-built beauties for the price of one overpriced yank plank :P

Can't recommend highly enough. If you're a tart and you must have a BMW M3 logo, I'm sure he'll be able to oblige!

Hmmm been running a Sargent for

About 50k best seat ever its all about your arse

I had a Sargent once upon a time, I thought it well made and comfortable if a little firm, however, I felt the look of the seat all wrong, the shape and styling looks more like a king & queen seat or something that belongs on a cruiser (but that might just be me....) at the time Tony Archer was starting to get good reviews on here so I had my ADV seats Gel padded and recovered, once I had tried the Archer-ised seats I sold the Sargent and the matching rear seat cover on here, I'll probably get my current seats Archer-ised shortly.

Why ?

Because I've tried three different custom seats re-modelled by so called experts and they've all failed to live up to the excellence of the Sargent I bought.

For 11XX Owners:

You'd buy Sargeant if you wanted rider & pillion seat & big Givi topbox.

You'd buy Corbin if you didn't have pillion & big top box requirements and you wanted the ultimate in GS seat comfort.

I tend to run rider only and top box, on the rare occasion I take a pillion it's standard seats :((((((

I tried a few different seats before buying a Sargent. Totally transformed my bike and gave me tens of thousands of miles of comfortable riding. Got it from Nippys and would happily buy another, no matter what bike I was riding.

Sargent seat now on my Third bike, looks as good as the day I bought it,and fits perfectly.
All day long comfort and it's my shoulders that give up long before my backside.
Sargent seats in IMHO are without doubt the best and worth every penny.

+1

I'm totally with you. I bought one. Hated it. Sent it back with full refund.

Very uncomfortable. But then it is subjective.

I fancy getting a second hand seat and letting tony archer do his stuff.

Surely I can't be the only person who thinks the original (R1150GS) seat is absolutely perfect? Pillion never moaned about her perch either. And the fact that I can just remove the pillion seat and sling all my work gear across a flat load platform (Best Rests Cover & Al Jesse Panniers enhance the experience) is, for me, the most amazing and unsung piece of brilliance which I rate right up there with the Telelever.

Pretty happy with my standard adventure seat! My brother has a sargent on his f800gs and hates it. Best seat I had was for my old fazer, made by top sellerie in france that was AMAZING comfiest thing ever :)

Why would you buy one? It makes the ride a little bit more like a hd?Just my take on this thread.

The standard seat on my 12GS is all day comfortable.:thumb I don't know what all the fuss is about:nenau

I'm happy with my 1150 standard seat too,

on a long run I occasionally chuck a sheepskin on it but most of the time I don't bother and get on with it just fine.

I found the standard 1200 GSA seat hugely uncomfortable after only about 60 miles. Fitted a Sargent and its good for up to 6/700 miles.

Might look like something off a tractor, but it works.
