Thanks

a bit expensive, but what is the sound quality like?

I have a Blik WiFi Radio and it's OK. Not great sound quality and a really annoying, loud click when you turn it on or off. The display isn't that large and the buttons are a pain to use.

I bought it 'cos I wanted an internet radio and it was a bargain.

Aye

Got two of the above mentioned Bliks. I found the sound quality was fine for the size of speaker; and it's got audio out to connect to the hi-fi. Crap as an alarm clock as the lcd display is annoyingly bright at night, and the clock isn' accurate at all. The buttons are annoying on the radio; but the remote is easier to use. Despite all this; for the price, it was a great deal. Hence I bought the second one. We appreciate it more as otherwise we'd only be able to listen to French radio stations, which are dire:D

I've got two Bliks of different sorts. Nice looking but not hi-fi quality. If I remember correctly the Gadget Show recommended a Ministry of Sound one.

See here.

Bill,

The sound quality is very good. A lot better than the Bug DAB radio it replaced on my bedside table. It's stereo which a lot of the cheaper ones aren't.

It has both wired and wireless Ethernet support and the wireless aerial is external which means it's more sensitive than others that just have an internal aerial.

Also the price has come down since the review I linked to. Now £145 from John Lewis.

Thanks - that is probably the one to go for - it is for use here in France, "the Mrs" cannot do without her Radio 4 plus Radio 2 and I am sick of setting the computer up for her

Hi

I have a Logitech Squeezebox Duet. This connects to your HiFi and gives stunning sound quality from internet radio. It is controlled by a very cool remote with a colour display that shows the album art as a track is played.

It is a bit tricky to set up, and I had to involve technical support to get an issue with connectivity problems to the remote fixed as I live in an area where there are lots of competing WiFi transmissions.

If you dont want to connect to the HiFi I would recommend a Logitech Squeezebox Boom.
