Went past the offending site this afternoon. Fire out. Several engines still in place. Boy did it stink. Fairly large area burned but looks like they got control fast enough.

Unlikely it was much to do with the temperature and always very sad to see. Wild fires like that are normally a result of people negligently or deliberately causing them, either camp fires not put out properly or teenagers with nothing better to do.

Worse time of year for gorse or even forest fires, the foliage is dry and folk are out and about with fag ends etc etc
