Width of GS 1150 adventure

Daft question, but need to know.

Can anyone tell me the width of a GS 1150 adventure, with standard engine bars fitted (from engine bar to engine bar). Reason is I'm after a GS 1150 adv, but my front gate is very narrow, and I need to know if I can fit one through. My gate width is 34.5 inches.

Until you fit panniers!!!!!

If you can arrive at the gate at a slight angle you can get an 1150ADV through a two foot six gate, so long as there's a bit of wiggle room either side of the gate.

You might however need to know that the part number for the little rubber bung in the end of the engine bars is 46521236522...

Just approach the gate way with a bit of speed on and you'll coast through till you get to the panniers anyway!.

The engine bars are not the widest part...

The width across the handle bars is 35"+ or 37" including the mirrors.

Thanks to all...the engine bars would be the only problem due to the width of the gate. When I eventually get a GS, I would take the panniers off (silly to leave them on & destroy them, and the handlers bars / indicator positions are high enough to go over the gate pillars.

Yes, wider gate & short pillars - sounds fine to me but my missus might have something to say about it !!

Still, now that I know I can get a GS through, am off to the for sale dept to see if anything can tempt my money out of my wallet
