My Wilber's HP2 640 custom shock just arrived. It's -1" in length, has the aggressive sport spring, and the remote. :bow

I'll post a few more pictures tomorrow after it's on the bike.

ohlins

the ohlins cost 1500 aud and i think the wilbers is less than that. However i have only heard good stuf about wilbers. The ohlins for me is because they are rebuildable and parts are easy out here. Whitepwer parts are impossible.

Ok, the service guys just put the shock on last night just before we closed. I only got to try the bike out on a 20 minute ride home. Most of that was done at high speed on the Florida Turnpike (Orlando to Winter Garden). The trip included a few miles of construction zone with assorted pavement inperfections and lane changes. It's mostly concrete with sections of asphault; and most of the time the two don't meet smoothly.

The new shock felt 100% better planted and I haven't even made any fine tuning adjustments yet. There's no vague feeling in the back. Imperfections were hardly noticed. By the time that I realized that I had hit something, the back end was already settled. The Conti Attacks made a huge differance in the bike's street performance; and, just in the short ride home last night I think the new shocks will too.

I have to pick up a few things after work today, including my son; so, I won't be on the bike again until I ride it to work on Saturday. Sunday & Monday I'm off and will give the bike a true work out. I'll give a better report after that.

One thing I can say. The factory shock is extremely light. We were amazed when we took it off. We didn't weigh them; however, the Wilber is substantialy heavier. If you're using your HP2 in the dirt, you may want to stay with the factory shock.

I'm not sure of the price yet because I haven't been billed yet. My bike was done just before we closed and I'm settling up this morning when I go in. I'll post a price latter today.

so do we have a price on this then!!

think the xmas fund may get dipped in to :)

Wilbers shock

I bought a wilbers shock for my BMW 80gs project a couple of years ago and found them easy to deal with in Germany , I then needed a replacement spring and found it cheap
but I think Wilbers is basicly a WP shock marked as Wilbers for the German market
check out the wilbers Logo and it even mimicks the WP logo

This is only my impression

AFAIK Wilbers sold Technoflex, until they started making and selling their own copies of the Technoflex suspension... They didn't even bother to find their own colors for the parts....
