Wilbers shock Yellow spring

I want to change the black spring on my Wilber shock for a Yellow one, anyone know where I can get such item.

If I can't get a yellow spring, would it be better the powder coat or re-spray the black spring.... would powder coating crack?

Save yourself some money, just have your current spring blasted and powdr coated, much cheaper than buying a new one.

don't powdercoat, surely the baking process will heat treat your spring and change the spring rate.

Never thought of that, So it's a re-spray or new spring

Local suspension company powder coat springs regularly so don't believe it will be an issue.

powder coat, the heat wont harm it, coated mine on loads of bikes,,, checked with NB coatings in ponte,
a lot of after market springs are coated...

I called Revs today and spoke to John, Sound guy he told me to have my spring powder coat and save myself £80.

Cookie, I went down to B&Q today to get myself a tin of Yellow Plasti-kote, they had Red,Green, White, Brown and Black but no feckin YELLOW, so I went to there super store, they just had White, not very super Mr B&Q

Just a pointer on spring making and powdercoating.

Springs are generally made from spring stock , which is supplied in a known temper.

After coiling /grinding ends , ect, they are annealed by heating to 300c , and any powdercoating takes place during this annealing process.

So it is wrong to automatically assume that they can be heated againg without changing them in some way.

It probably wornt make them unservicable, but they wont be the same as before you started either.

Yellow springs are the best springs you can get.

They are so much better than black, although i hear purple ones are almost as good.

I wish my spring was yellow, they are so much more springier.

I think the yellow pigment has some sort of elastic properties............

mine are purple and they work just fine is it really worth the effort??
