i have just fit a set of standard wilbers to my 2005 gs, but when i have put it back on the side stand the bike is definitely leaning a bit more, is this normal?

Could of you old springs been a little tired?
Or are the new springs of great weight rate?

maybe, its got a 165 spring on the rear. my bike has done 64k and as far as i am aware it still had the original suspension on it.

Either way, new or higher rated springs will make the bike sit higher, so the lean angle when on sidestand will be greater.
If it is too much for you to upright the bike off the sidestand, try a puck type stand attachment......
I doubt I can mention 'cameltoe' stand devices as the 'gal' in Kentgal may mean you a female!;)

no deffo not from an adventure, i checked with revs today. i thought of using
a side stand extender but it looks like it will foul the centre stand when its up. ps dont worry i am all man .

The stock spring is a 140 (At least it was on my 2008) for my regular two-up use Wilburs / MCT recommended a 150, Ohlins offer shocks with a 140 or a 160, so 165 sounds pretty stiff, I assume you got them second hand of some 40 stone bloke.

I would not worry as much about the extra lean, but if you find it a bit harsh you may want to consider a softer spring, especially if you don't do much two-up (where this spring will probably work very well)

Drop the preload = more static sag = less lean on sidestand.

BTW - why call yourself 'gal' if you're a blerk?

I've just sold the kids and put Ohlins on my GSA. It stands vey high but it's like a magic carpet ride:thumb

I have a side kicker extender in because the frame was slightly bent by the side stand lug and it does help.:thumb2
