Wilburs rear shock too long?

Thanks all for the advice and input.

I'm going to close the thread for now until the seller has had a chance to respond to my latest PM.

Sorted - returned for refund.

Fully accept that Richard had no intention to mislead in his ad - hope his resale is successful.

is it not possible just to fit a longer GSA centre stand to an 1100 ?

I don't think so - I believe 1150 stands are different.

And even if it was possible, it would need a new side stand too and it wouldn't get round the swingarm fouling the exhaust at full extension etc, etc.

No - as I said earlier, chasing a load of other issues all over the bike to fix a problem due to a shock I didn't know was 10mm too long wasn't in the plan. I'll just have to find a decent shock that's the standard length.

not sure that it would, there is no difference in the swing arm etc between gs and GSA, and I have an 1150 stand on my 1100 so they fit, see no reason why a gsa one should not fit, and no reason why it should foul anything, I have a side stand extended by 2 inches to stand my bike up and that dont foul anything, in fact in order to make it easier to to get wheels on and off etc I am thinking of fitting a GSA center stand to mine in any case.

You misunderstand me (again) - the stand didn't foul - the swingarm fouled against the exhaust with the longer shock fitted. And as I've said repeatedly - I thought I was buying a standard length shock which wouldn't require me to chase around the bike changing things to suit the compromised shock that I'd just fitted :nenau
