Wildlife Photography: pointers please.

I've got a manual Canon AE1 Program for B & W, and I would not feel comfortable with it for Wildlife, certain out in the sticks.

However, I have just landed myself a nearly new Minolta Dynax 7 for just over £200, now, I'll be on the prowl for a good lens, 2nd or new.

Why don't you start by shooting still subjects , See pic .

Do you think they used a waterproof lens for this shot ?
