Looking at the pin configuration on the back of a standard Garmin, it looks the same as the Garmin (re-branded) BMW version. has anyone tried to fit / managed to fit successfully in order to outwit the stealers? witty comments optional, factual info sought & prefered
thanks

I had a Garmin 660 but it had limited functions when on the TE mount, from memory non of the handlebar wheel functions work, although , I sold it on here & bought the Bmw have 5, there are lots more functions on the nav 5 & also the screen resolution is MUCH better.

The Garmin 660/665 will fit on to the bracket and get powered up by the bike.

The controller wheel will not work and neither will any on the extra functions that the Nav-5 has (obviously).

I had problems with the Nav-5 and was looking at the G665 as an alternative. BMW confirmed the situation.

Its a waste on the bike if you don't have the Nav-V.

Get the Nav-V if your wallet can stomach it

Totally agree.. There's a thread on here recently with duscounted nav 5

Ditto, get the Nav-5, it integrates very well with the bikes electronics.

Thanks for the replies - just bought a Vario top box so will have to put on the back burner for a short while (wife's still getting over the price of the bike)
