.......I wear full leathers on my 1200GS when I go away????

Your honest opinions please. I have always worn leathers when away on my bike due to the increased feeling of security I feel when riding at higher speeds than sunny old Jersey. However that was when I rode Thundercats and VFRs. Am I gonna look a complete plum in black leathers (not the power ranger look!) on my GS?

I suppose I shouldn't care what I look like after all I am 45 and don't care what I look like at any other times!!

What I suppose I'm really asking is how many of you wear full leathers on your GS'

TBH wear what you're comfortable in... you never know you might be a fashion leader

The purpose of the clothing is for protection. There are so many combinations of clothing why be concerned. As long as you are protected, comfortable and when needed waterproof, then it doesn't matter.

Most people will admire the bike and not give a stuff for your clothing.

I used to wear black leathers on the GS, a zip together two piece, until I got too fat for them and went down the textile route. Don't see any problem with 'sensible' leathers, they're very practical.

A Tosser is a term of endearment on this site. Tossers can be identified but their fat bald appearance rather than by their satorialism. Tossers can be twats but not all twats are Tossers. A key point is a Tosser usually can't get into a power range suit

I sometimes wear all black, 2 piece, race style leathers, complete with knee sliders, but NO hump.

Do I look daft? Probably.

Do I care? Nope.

But I'm not "normal" tosser size, so my leathers aren't like a hollowed out cow

i bought a dainese akro pro suit, pro gloves, supertech r boots for the toilet, i put up the same post....and got the same answers only worn it once cos i bought a blue twat suit! felt great on the bike and my mates commented how good it looked, its just these twats on here who'll give you the complex a lot of the promo for the GS had riders in one piece leathers, go for it mate

They are not the type with tassels and chaps as I don't have the matching peak cap etc.

They are a touring style two piece number and of course your all correct as there is no right or wrong answer.

I think my final decision will depend on the forecast whether I go textile or leather. I have always felt safer in leathers with waterproof overalls so............... I think I may have just answered my own question

However it is good to get your thoughts on the matter as I am sure you are all fashion conscious trendy gym visitors who like nothing more than a chat about what to wear over a skinny latte

I wear black Gore-Tex lined two-piece leathers all year round unless it's mega cold or seriously heavy rain in which case the high-viz textile jacket comes out. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

just make sure you sand a bit off your knee sliders, it looks so much better stepping off a GS like that than a race rep - not that I know myself of course:cool

Well I feel like I have hit on a very serious debate here. very much like oil and tyres methinks!

I'm not a proper well fed tosser either but now I don't have to look sporty on my new bike maybe I will get a pair of them pannier thingys and fill them up with pies

I think you have.

Wear whatever suits your mood on the day. And the journey. And the weather.

Monday was dry so I wore my fave outfit.
Wind and waterproof jacket over leather trousers on other days.
Textile trousers if the journey will be cold and wet to avoid rain filling my boots
