Hey All

I`m fitting a set of SW MOtech engine bars to my 2005 R1200GS.

The bit I`m struggling with is as per the pictures below. Basically having realised the onmly Torx bit I don`t have is the one I need, a T55, I suddenly had a thought, thankfully before I weilded the wrench.

If thee bolts are holding the subframe, will it drop if I take the bolts out to replace them with the SW Motech ones.

Anybody any ideas before I mess up my subframe.

Having fitted a couple of sets of these I can only say I had no issues with the sub frame moving so go wield the wrench! :thumb

Yup, you'll be fine!
Don't forget those big bolts need a little thread lock applied when you put your SW Motech supplied bolts in.

As the others say, no problem. Only problem I encountered was when I discovered that one of the Motech bushes which fit at the location you are concerned about was not drilled "right through". It was a bugger to correct this with only a hand held Drill. Motech apologised and a replacement arrived two weeks later !!.

All done and dusted, piece of pish really. Just a moment of doubt , couldn`t be arsed spending the rest of the day re-doing my subframe.

Thanks again all.
