Need to service my flht. Before I get another hernia, does anybody put their Harley on a bike ramp as per pix
The end of the side stand seems a long way from the wheel axis. I'm wondering if it will stay put while I sort out something under the bottom frame

My indie does exactly that... Never seen him do it though???

I dunno, serious lack of support on this site

Not completely clear on what you mean.

I push the bike onto the center of the table.

This leaves the sidestand over hanging the tables edge so I've built at block [same height as table] to rest the stand on. Then it's a matter of positioning the smaller stand and using it to move the bike to the vertical and the wheels off the table.

Bike table is the raised to working height.

With the bike positioned to one side of the table there's enough room for the side stand on the table top on my table at least.

Cheers boxer that's exactly what I wanted to know

Sorry...hand-holding ain't my forte...if you couldn't work out how to put your bike on your stand..in your garage...should you really be doing anything as complicated as servicing?

But your bike ramp is considerably better built than the edtz version.

You have box section legs and a scissor lift.

He has angle iron legs and it's a cantilever ramp.

The bench will lean like feck with a harley on it and resemble the ship concordia that listed into the rocks on the italian coast.

So as long as he videos it, we'll all learn something...or at least have something to send to " you've been framed" or some such....

Sorry Pingu I didn't realise that replying to one sarcastic comment with another was not au fait on this site. I now see that the true tossers are to be found in the Harley section:rolleyes:

Your right Neil, it's a non-starter. Also when the back wheel is on the platform the front has gone through the clamp and I'm not lifting a bike up without the front wheel secured

However... I still vote for one good attempt...as long as its videoed......

I'm touched! :hug (Mind you, I'm a bit of a ringer as I no longer have an HD so by rights shouldn't even be here. Still, gatecrashing is fun)).

Just to resurrect an old thread, saw this on youtube and it works a treat

Piece of timber 36"x7"x3", stick a bar of some sort half way up and 3" in, stick under bike and pull it down
Depending on where you place it, either front or rear wheel comes off the deck. I'd check your 'zorsts aren't lower than the frame

Bike seems very stable

Careful, or somebody will accuse you of being a 1200 rider :D

Even easier, the side stands on Harleys are mentally strong.
With the stand down, place your trolley jack under either end and you can lift either wheel with the bike resting on the side stand.
