Will the led indicators from the 1200 work on an 1150?

Would like to replace the crap mini-indicators that are on my 1150. Like the look of the led ones I've seen on some 1200's but don't know if they're specific to canbus bikes or not. Anyone able to let me know please?

Cheers.

Mort had a thread earlier in the week where he was fitting LED flashers, I think he ended up needing a different flasher unit too.

LED indicators

I tried THESE bulbs recently on my 1150..... they didn't work.
They were all right connected up to a 12 V battery though.....
Might be polarity..... :nenau
Cheap

Those should work fine but you will have to change the flasher unit to an electronic one. A stock unit wont work as there isn't enough load.

what's the point? the original 'bulbs' last forever... or seem to. I've had two 1100s over 13 years and never changed an indicator bulb. In fact I got so bored with not changing them that I changed them. (for silver ones - when I got rid of the amber lenses) that was 4 years ago on this particular bike. I've got two spare bulbs.. god knows if/when I'll ever actually need one of em.

bloody goddam reliable german rubbish. I knew i shoulda bought an italian bike.. if only for the thrill of getting the multimeter out.

Changing the flasher unit is one option - fitting ballast resistors inline with the indicator wiring is another.

When I bought my bike it had mini-indicators fitted which are crap quality and somewhat unreliable. I want to replace them and have the option to either get original equipment bmw indicators or go for LED's from the newer bikes. The LED units look neater but also brighter, hence wondering if they might fit.

I would suggest then that you use parts that are actually designed for your bike.. which seems a better idea to me than taking them from a later bike with all the rigmarole that involves. There are LED panels available that fit into the original 1150 indicators in seconds that have the electickery ready installed to work as you'ld expect. Its just a matter of deciding if you can justify the cost.

If you are using the bike off road BMW have some flexible stalk LED's from the G range bikes. Don't know if they are a straight plug and play but do know that everytime you drop your bike with the standard ones that's another "£26 please sir":(

That sounds like a fine idea. I shall look into that, thanks.
