fuel pump recall on my 1200GS. booked into a local BMW agent (i live near Chester) i attended the dealership last thursday to get it checked/done. yes, it needs doing but we can't do it, no parts and as we deem it to be in a dangerous condition so if you want to take it away you'll need to sign a disclaimer to absolve them of responsibility. ok. can i have a loan bike i ask. i'll see if i can get one for you she says but as we have more bikes in the workshop with the same problem we have no service bikes left! she gets me a sales bike a K1200GT. hmm. ok. but when can you do it? we wont have the part 'till next wednesday she says

no good, i am off to Scotland for a few days next wed. morning and all hotels are booked etc. so, nothing else offered i sign a typed up disclaimer. i had been there for 1hr. 45mins. at this point
now outside in the dealership car park i ring Williams of manchester and spoke to Levi there explaining the situation. ok. i'll put the pump on special order now, it's after the 2pm. cut off for next day delivery but it may still be in for tomorrow (friday). so, the bike was booked in for monday 15:15 for the pump to be fitted (the pump actually did arrive on friday). i did go back into the dealership and told them to cancel the job altogether informing them of my arrangement with Williams. i went yesterday and arrived about 14:50 and at 16:35 after a very pleasant wait drinking coffee, playing with the free wi fi, reading the mags and mooching around the bikes rode away with the job done. no stress no strain i even had the technician come to me and show me what the problem was with the old pump
when it comes to going the extra mile to help a customer and providing a top service i have experienced nothing better than this
i can now get off to Scotland happy that a possibly hazardous fault has gone from my bike.
thankyou Williams Motorrad Manchester
