Hi,

My son cannot recall the password for his account on a Win7 laptop which he stopped using a while back. I want to use the laptop, not worried if his account works or not.

Admin account not visible at log-in, only his account and I do not have password.

I cannot access the cmd prompt.

I have the HDD removed and connected to another laptop so I can copy all the files I need etc.

I do not have any Win7 discs here.

Can anyone tell me how to enable the Admin account from Windows Explorer ?

Thanks

Bin

There are a few ways. Download hieren boot cd and burn it to a cd or make a bootable USB drive. It's all in the hieren download. Put the drive back in the laptop and boot from your cd or USB drive. When you get to the boot menu look for password recovery or admin password recovery. I cant remember exactly as it has been a while but it will be obvious when you see it. Run that and follow the prompts. It will find the account and delete the password so it will log in without it. Job done.
