Wind and rain

Spear Ruler and I have just finished 100km spin in driving rain and gale force winds, our bikes were nice and shiney when we set off... there manky now.......and look great!!!!!! Some acheivement considering Spear Ruler is only riding since September. Was anyone else brave enough to go out today.

I took the Jeep today, I have a cold I cannot shake off. first time in ages I had a great slosh around on Friday with the GSA. It is nearly as much fun as in the dry just takes longet to tog up thats all.
Riding in harsh conditions really hones up your riding skills.

Did 280km on Saturday to meet Aidan in Kesh for the first 'Kesh Me Arse' recce. Started off windy with showers so decided to pick up 2 Photo Rally points enroute. It didn't stop raining for the entire second half I stuck to minor roads to maximise the shelter available but even then some of the gusts were 'interesting'. Funnily enough I only saw one other loon out on a bike

Sunday was much better - 220km recce with only a few showers (although it got down below 5 degrees during a shower in the hills ) & another 220km home with just one heavy shower

And of course I only managed an hour or two off road yesterday in the sunshine - sods law

notes to remember for future reference -

unless you duct tape your jacket collar and cuffs to your skin - it WILL leak at those points.
Richa waterproof trousers aren't..... after 2.5 hours of non stop heavy rain.
nor do they dry out overnight.
then when you put them on the next morning...... yyyeeeeee uccchhh!
spare gloves are a good idea.
sealskin waterproof socks are. waterproof.
MAG Wexford have really excellent charity runs and if i ever have the misfortune of coming off a Bike again i want to land in Wexford General Hospital
i cant recommend Whites of Wexford as a hotel.
Wexford General Hospital canteen sausages are really tasty!
