Hi all, When i picked up my 2nd hand 2010 ADV there were cracks in 3 of the 4 mounting holes in the two wind deflectors so the dealer said they would replace them. I picked them up this morning and the mounting has changed slightly. The ones that were fitted when i collected it had a two piece hard plastic washer fitting that the mounting bolts went through wheras the new ones have a larger hole in them and a rubber grommet pressed into the deflector. The holes in the new ones are larger than the holes in the original ones.
I have fitted the new ones with the flat plastic washer off the original ones between the bolt and the rubber grommet because if you just put the bolt through on its own it ends up distorting the grommet before you can tighten it enough to prevent movement. Anyone know if this fitting of the new ones is correct or is there a larger headed mounting bolt to use with these modified deflectors?
I presume they have rubber mounted them now to prevent over tightening and cracking them.
......................... your thoughts please
