My 2025 1300GS came with the small fly screen (manual adjustment) and no wind deflectors. I replaced the small screen with a larger one from MRA using the stock screen's 4 screws, grommets, and collared washers. So of the 4 tapped holes in each arm two are used for the shield, the other two empty.

I then purchased a set of WRS deflectors to add but they came with no hardware. When I contacted WRS they said "use what you take off from the stock deflectors" which I obviously don't have... if I did I wouldn't have purchased their deflectors. In looking at the only fiche I can find "R1300GS 22 (KA1) 06/22-06/24" it shows the deflectors use the same exact screws, washers, and collared washers as the windshield. The WRS deflectors however have larger holes than the ones in both the stock and MRA shields so the collars and grommets won't work.

Can anyone who has had their shield and deflectors off confirm if all 8 sets of screws, grommets and collars are the same. Or do the factory deflectors have larger holes and different size hardware.

Thank you in advance!

Hope that helps . Sorry about that photo . Looks like there’s two screws and push in grommet to secure them

The black "wings" simply sit on the slightly raised mounting points on the windshield frame and are sandwiched between the windshield grommets and the frame. The rubber grommets should have stainless tophat inserts, pushed in from the back that hold the wings in place

This video link starts at the point where these inserts are..inserted.

Thanks everyone, maybe mine cannot accept the deflectors? The 2 "stays" the shield attaches to have 4 holes which would be for the shield's two positions. I understand the screw, grommet, shouldered washer sequence but I don't see where the deflectors attach?

They lay down over those raised lugs that have the screw hole. They should stay put till you put the screen over top

Are you referring to the windshield holes TaskMule? I'm not seeing raised lugs for the deflectors.

In the last picture you posted, the cast frame that holds the windshield, the holes the screws screw into, they are raised. Set the side deflectors down over them and slap the windshield over top,

It just doesn't seem right that the plastic deflectors fit directly against the frame with no grommets or collar washers in their holes?

But then the windshield with it's two holes on each side fitted with it's rubber grommets lays on top the deflectors screwing through two of each of the deflectors 4 larger holes? Do the 4 deflector holes on each side (which are larger than the 2 windshield holes) get their own larger rubber grommets? Sorry, obviously I'm still struggling to know exactly what size grommets and washer collars I need to do this.

Take a look at this about 6 mins 25 secs onwards

Which will show better than me doing photos

Why are people posting about an obviously completely unrelated part in this thread wtf?

Clifton the black plastic winglets sit DIRECTLY on the cast windshield frame. They will drop snugly over the raised circular nubs of the threaded holes. (make sure they are the right way around) Then the windshield stainless tophat inserts sit DIRECTLY over top, tightly sandwiching the winglet between two metal surfaces. Wipe all thoughts of rubber grommets from your mind. Cast aluminum windshield frame - black plastic winglet - stainless windshield grommet insert. Screw it down.

Ok the video just above my last post does have an informative section at around the 6min 25 sec point

Whew what an ordeal I made out of the simplest thing, certainly not helped by my descriptions! Well unless I have them backwards, I have the bend facing forward.

Thank you TaskMule!

Because there are 2 parts on each side on mine
2 x deflectors on the screen carrier and 2 x just under yhat fit to the bodywork

So wtf off
:)

I see some versions have those "side deflectors" which mine didn't have either.

I'm wondering if all that come with the larger, electric, windshield also have both the side deflectors as well as the additional windshield deflectors I just put on? So either little fly screen only like on base Trophy or touring screen with black windshield deflectors and side deflectors?
