wind noise- please help before I go deaf or sell the bike

Does the Givi airflow (Af330??) fit the GSA screen?

I need another 3 inches to get in quiet air. I'm 6'3'' and like to sit very upright.

Thanks.
The airflow is a complete screen replacement, not just the extending bit - fully extended it's 54cm. You'd need to compare this measurement to the height of your GSA screen.

If you do swap consider me in the queue behind Glyno :thumb2

Stu.

I'm 1cm taller than you, and have the airflow screen fitted to my GS. I also have the high seat option, on the high setting. If I sit bolt upright, I find there is still some buffeting, but it's much better than any other screen I've tried. If I have the seat lower it's all a lot smoother, but that does my knees in.

There's not much to lose by trying one out though, if you don't like it, you can probably get 80% of the cost back selling it secondhand.

RT impressions...

Well I enjoyed it loads :)

Had a 5 hour test ride on a new SE model. Very nice bike.

Wind noise report:
Started off with industrial strength ear plugs and screen in its lowest position. Accelerated upto about 50ish and there was lots of air hitting me. But this was how I expect it to be; not turbulent, but still noisy.
I hit the button to raise the screen...... HA HA! Bloody brilliant :bounce1
Wind pressure and noise almost disappears. With screen at full height it was too much like being in a car! No wind noise, a bit of pressure on the back of the helmet, but I didn't like looking through the screen.
Experimented at all speeds and all screen positions- Loved it. Even at high speeds with the screen in a low position the wind noise is acceptable and, like a sportsbike, it disappears when you duck down behind the screen.
Tried it with my custom ear plugs (let some noise through) and no ear plugs. All felt fine.

Other things?
That new engine is an absolute peach :thumb
Felt loads more revvy, powerful and smoother than my 07 one. ESA was good. Traction control (honest) was a bit weird; it kicked in a couple of times when accelerating hard out of bumpy corners with the ESA on comfort.
Brakes were the nicest I've used. Don't like the new switch gear. Mirrors a bit disappointing. Heated seat is great- comfortable too.
Handling was interesting; people report that they fall into corners:nenau
I found the opposite; it needed some bar pressure to keep it over.

Result is that I want one. Can't afford a new type model though (2010-11) :comfort

So hope the older one that I've whacked a deposit on will at least be as good in the wind noise department :augie

System 6 Helmet.

GSA Screen on GSA so it has winglets. I have also "de-clitted" the screen adjuster so it goes a tad higher.

Normal squidgy yellow ear plugs.

Am 5'10" tall.

Seat on middle position.

Have done plenty of long journeys and 500m+ days.

No headaches.

No problems.
