I`m all out of ammunition, tried my best, so I`ll pass the batton over to another Zumo believer, Merry Chrimbo to you :beerjug:

Paul

And a Merry Chrimbo to you too.... twas a pleasure doing battle :beerjug:

my shift is about finished... so i'll bow out graciously and leave the baton up for grabs..

One final attempt at convincing you all, the zumo is customisable (is that a real word :D ) with some fetching bling covers in rather striking flames and stripes :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1

And Swebb, don't tell me, you've been paid to do battle with me, whilst I'm doing this in my own time, :tears  :D

Thats Saturday rates, surely you`ll have more money than sense being a shift worker ;) :D

Its been an honour doing battle. :thumb :beerjug:

Aren’t our bike’s the most expensive toys, never mind GPS… :P

I’m on my 5th GPS in six years, worth every penny :rob

a horse and cart will get you from a to b, but i take it you dont use one of them.
a tent will keep the weather of just as well as a house take it you dont use one of them.
a map will find the way from point to point or give you a location.

The Zumo is clearly better than the 2610, in everything - it is just a matter of whether you can justify the extra expense.

I've got a Quest 1 and a 2610 (the latter bought off ebay a year ago for £250) and while I love gadgets................. have not been able to justify to myself, the purchase of a Zumo. To me, the 2610 has a fair bit of life left in it.

Sure, I'd like the tracking facility and the better graphics, but since I'd not get much for the 2610 - it would effectively cost the full retail price of the Zumo to change.

To the people that have shelled out on the Zumo already......... Good for you, you've got a great piece of cutting edge kit:thumb

To those that have just shelled out on a discounted 2610......... good for you, you've got a bloody bargain there:thumb

Simple as that:clap

I'd like the new Garmins to be as well built as my Streetpilot III. Compared to that they all feel a bit flimsy. An SPIII with a 2720 processor and a CF card slot would just about be my perfect GPS unit.

ah but which is the best atlas, i find 99% of the journey is easy its the last five minutes that turns into an hour.

Happy Christmas and a safe new year.

But on the bike, it's the journey that's important, not the destination :thumb :D

the main use for my gps is the get me home, like nothing better than to ride in any direction for a few hours then switch on the gps to get me home:thumb
