I have a GS1150 with I think std screen - it flips up on the top edge- with tobinators & I'm a short arse 5'8. Can any one recommend a good screen position or screen that would let me ride between 85-100 without being deafened & enable me to clear my visor from rain by turning my head?
If i set my existing combination in a low position I can clear my visor but it creates a lot of pressure on my chest & shoulders making it hard work to hang on.

See if you can borrow someone`s Adventure Screen to try, I fitted one to my Std 1150 and found a big difference.

Mind you I`m 6`1``

From what I've read on here, its just a matter of keep playing with the tobinators untill you find that sweet spot and then your world is a quiet one.

I did read somewhere that someone was about to junk thier tobinators as they were having little success, then a miniscule adjustment cured it unexpectadly!

I'm 5'9" and have the standard screen with standard fittings and have now put it in the lowest position and is fine, clears the rain and doesn't hammer me much, will raise it again nearer winter as it keeps the visor a bit cleaner as the roads dirty up, so I would say try it without the tobbys fitted

I've tried the standard screen without tobinators & it's still bad only different. i've also got a larger screen which came with the bike & that was terrible for me, so perhaps I should put that on thre board and see if anyone wants a bigger screen. Trying to get it right using Tobinators is probably the best solution at the moment unless someone can recommend a different screen that doesn't take as long to set up as the Tobinators.

I have the standard screen on my Adventure and the wind noise is deafening and a pain. Especially wearing the airflow helmet.

Tobinator or deflector screen. At 5'10", which to choose?

Never tried the deflector screen but at 6Ft0 the tobinators do the job for me. I've also got bar risers which stops the screen from fouling the bars (and makes the riding position more comfortable which is why I bought them in the first place)

I'm 6'2", wear a ROOF helmet and thought the standard screen on middle setting was fine. Now I've got an MRA Vario again on the middle setting and it's brilliant! I am told the ultimate is an MRA Vrio with Tobinators fitted. Mind you, it can take some time to get the best from Tobinators as even a small increment of movement can make a big difference. :beerjug:

Where do you get the Vario's from? Plus how much are they & how good do they look?

This does remind me of a conversation with the dealer I bought the GS from 4 years ago.

Me - "Any ideas how I can improve the wind protection?"

Salesman - "Buy a car" :D

I'm only just over 5'9" & best position for me with std screen was screen in middle position with Tobinators set to highest position @ front & lowest @ back - much better than std screen without Tobinators but not perfect.

Found that if you're taller they seem to work better. Saw a pic on this board of a bike with Tobinators as above but screen in lowest position - so tried it - bloody dreadful for me BUT when I stood on the pegs just enough to raise my height by a couple of inches - hey presto - superb - beautiful still air round the head - trouble is with a two inch higher seat I'd need platform boots to touch the floor :D

Cheers

I got mine (1100GS) from PPSEAT

£110 delivered - I think the 1150 ones are a bit cheaper.

Their service was excellent.
