Windows 7...

Cheers Mick, been using W7 for a while now and think it's what Vista should have been if Microsoft hadn't been in a rush. Thanks for the link, the EasyBCD is a useful tool I'd not known about before.

yeah, right :P

I don't understand why Apple make such a fuss about Windows Vista/W7/etc. I think it's how Steve Jobs gets his rocks off!!

They should understand, and admit, that they (Apple) would be in just the same situation as Microsoft if they had to compromise their OS to facilitate it's use on billions of legacy business PC's worldwide.

Apple are a niche company who make nice hardware and for all the millions of Macs they sell are still a minority OS. They will remain so until they open up OS-X to other PC manufacturers as Microsoft did with Windows ....... and then .... ooops! they will be on the same situation regarding legacy systems. But I doubt that will happen.

Apple have always been form over function. They produce wonderful looking hardware and a stable OS but they leave a lot to be desired with their UI, WIMO is not as good as Windows. The hardware will never break on speed records but it does look nice.

The OS goes through all the same procedure as Microsoft with update after update because it wasn't right when released. I can't remember how many major updates there were with OS-X Leopard, but there were lots! And OS-X Snow Leopard has only been out a couple of months and we've had a mega update to download and install and within the next week or so there's another mega download on the way to update it to OS-X 10.6.2 on top of the little update they sneak in.

Before any Apple FanBoys start spitting out their dummies (a common occurance when anyone dares to announce that Apple aren't perfect) I am an iMac user.
