Although I have no problem with doing this for a Mac with Super Duper or Carbon copy cloner, what is the best software/method of cloning a Windoze XP pro SATA HDD for an upgrade??

It's a SATA-300 drive if it makes any difference in a Dell Optiplex GX520. I think it only has a single SATA lead in there, & I forgot to look to see if the mother board had a second socket :blast

I have done a search an looked at a couple of threads that mention Acronis software...but which package is best

Also seen Hiren's Boot CD mentioned but having looked at screen shots on their web site it all looks a bit involved, and I can't remember the last time I looked at MS-DOS type stuff so I'm looking for a simpler method, even if I have to pay for it :augie

Anyway could someone point me in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance
Mike

If you are moving to a similar size drive - use a physical cloner.

Amazon have them (I don't have the details to hand)

I've had problems with most software I've tried (but that may be complicated by having a recovery sector, and partitions on my original HDD)

Al :)
