Wing mirrors

I have taken the win mirrors off my bike to clean them up, does anyone know if the head will come away from the metal arm/ stalk and if so, how?

yea just unscrew them, then pull it off

Er, don't think so. I think they come as a single unit if I recall some of the earlier questions about this. Mirror and stalk are sold as a single unit.

That's a relief, I couldn't split them!

If they are from an 1150 they don't split and the stalk is held on by a nyloc nut which you can't access unless you attempt to filter through a space that is slighlty too narrow and upset a SUV owner

best way to make em look like new is to give them a wash.. then when dry a wipe over with some 'back to black' bumper shine.

I use that stuff on all the plastic on my bike as well as the Mirrors, bars. switchgear and it looks like new.
