Winter has arrived

Col du Tourmalet and Col d'Aubisque are now closed for the winter due to snow, so we will soon be skiing the roads not riding them!

Just about to post that Oliwoof ! I noticed a lot of snow on the higher parts of the Pyrenees the other day on the way into Pau. Where about are you ? I am down near Lembeye we get in rain what the folks further up et in snow! And we have had lots of rain

We are between Tarbes and Bagneres, has been raining for several days here, at 450m we are not high enough to get much snow.

Right I know where you are now! I like to go up through the mountains by a route near you. I like to do Tourmalet ,Soulor and Aubisque as a nice round trip in the summer. Might be able to meet up for a run out next year!

Yes give us a call when you are about, the run you have just mentioned has been very difficult to do this year with the flooding in Bareges and lower but should all be okay next year, depending on the weather..............

Yes went round there earlier in the summer when friends visited could not believe what I was seeing coming down from Tourmalet. I was speaking to someone who knows people who live in Bareges apparently some people were killed in the floods, must have been raging some of the boulders moved were enormous ! I will try to remember to give you a bell next year when the weather is fine !
