So, Winter is upon us, and I am prepared (I hope).

Helly Henson Thermals
Rohan Fleece
Chili Heated Vest
EDZ Yeti Fleece
Atlantis 2 Leathers
Weise Thermal Quilted One Piece
Altberg All Weather Hoggs
SealSkinz Socks
BMW Atlantis 3 Gloves
Tucanno Muffs/LegShiellds (Shitebags) (Heated Grips & Handguards)

What are you wearing ???

Usually - not enough :blast

If I get togged up in the house - I either:

Put too much on, sweat my 'nads off, then get chilled on the bike

or don't put enough on from the start - and freeze my 'nads off once I get past 30mph :blast

Safer if I take the car :rob

Well, for when riding the rt, have just bought some 'as new' Heine gericke master kit. Bleeding expensive when new, and just plain expensive when 2nd hand. Will go with various levels of thermals, fleeces and Ron hill type leggings, depending on weather and duration of ride.

Bit of a different matter when on the trails. Much more difficult to regulate temperature due to significantly varying degrees of effort.

It's definitely getting colder now though.

Rukka, Oxford fleece waterproof snood, TCX Infinity boots, summer gortex gloves + muff, shit blanket.

About 10 years ago I managed to find some govt surplus flight suit base layers. Very soft. Very warm. Wicking and fast drying high tech fabric uber under wear. high neck. Long sleves and long john pants.

[i have berghaus. Rab and lots of other expensive kit too. . That base layer stuff is as good [but doesnt look sexy] and cost about £20 for three brand new sets! If you can find it i recommend it.

So that.

A cheapy mid layer motorcycle shirt from Aldi. Has a high neckline and the zip to one side so not bulky under th chin.

Then a light fleece.

And then my Held motorbike suit, liners in of course.

1000 mile walking socks ( wicking liner and morino wool) not too thick

Altberg high leg boots

balaclaver. And wind proof neck tube. The former goes down the inside of my jacket wind proof on the outside ( lets rain drown yhe outside in wet weather)

Gloves are held touring gloves

If its incedibly cold i can wear my rainsuit over the top for additional layer, but in reality thats rare

But I do have Tucano muffs ( with those heated grips are almost unneccessary) this year Ive bought a Gaucho too that looks promising!

Pinlock visor is good to have too.

From the top down

Vest
Long sleeve T shirt
Keis X6 heated vest
Base layer trousers
Rukka Armadillo suit (liner in jackets but not trousers, as wearing base later instead)
Thick walking socks
Daytona Goretex boots

And I was toasty warm yesterday at 41 degrees F:thumb

Heated grips , muffs and Goucho on my PCX and I can get around town in civvies.

same as i do in the summer may add a long sleeved tshirt but use a shite bag and muffs have a heated vest in the top box just incase

Same as summer really, except i put the lining in the jacket.
I only have a 20 minute commute so unless its really cold can manage that without anything extra.

Luckily if snow on the ground I can work from home :D

Luckily I don't have to commute through winter anymore.. but if I did I'd choose electrically heated clothing.

There's a very good selection available these days...

Two winters ago I bought a set of Frank Thomas wind stopper vest/trousers to go under my kit for about £75.

Worn them about twice, they are shite.

Only the front bit is windproof, the back of my legs/knees get frozen as the wind gets through the 'spandex' type thin cloth, and the diagonal chest zipper chafes my neck when fully zipped up to the top.

I wish I had spent a bit more and bought Rukka instead.:blast

Long sleeve T shirt, short sleeve T shirt, heated vest, Revit Cayenne Pro Jacket (excellent), leather trousers with waterproof over-trousers if needed, Goretex boots and Gortex gloves.

A coat made of sheepskin, like on this picture.

And if you ride a sidecar; boots called Muckboots, look like those on the picture.
