Just trying to go wireless for the first time with my new BELKIN 125G router.

Im using an apple imac G5 with Tiger 10.4.2 and although the computer is recognising the router (Im able to access the web based info) - I just cant get it to connect.

My ISP is wanadoo broadband and Im online with the provided speedtouch ASDL modem which connected no problems.

Im figuring that its the wireless network settings rather than a physical glitch

I have a windows XP laptop with a Belkin wireless card in that I can't get to connect either.

The Belkin is also connected with the Ethernet cable (as advised) whilst setting up.

Any tips please..............

please clarify - you have the laptop connected to the router with Ethernet cable while you trying to establish wireless connection also?

any encryption enabled yet i.e. WEP?

SSID being broadcast by the router - not necessary, but may aid us with initial config of your connection.

you router sounds like one of the "new" higher speed (maybe burst mode) models.

What spec is the card in the laptop - may need to config the router to step down its connection speed, i would guess this is default setting?

can you see the wirless adapter in the device mangler on you xp machine?

Laptop not connected by Ethernet at the same time. Just tried it wireless and ethernet to get the initial connection.

The Belkin IS a new 802.11g model with a claimed 125 high speed mode. All firewalls and security are off.

The laptop card is a matching Belkin high speed jobbie.

Thanks for the help Andy - all sorted. Full software reinstall and reboot of the router did the trick................
