Hope someone out there can help me.

Belkin have kindly sent me a new router/modem after the last one went bang.

Got it all sorted out and I can get on the web. However, my laptop doesn't see the network, even though it sees others in the street. I've already check that its bradcasting the SSID.

Any ideas how I can cheeck whether the wireless is working and what I might check on the laptop to get it to work?

Any help gratefully received as I :nenau

Right click on the wireless icon

view available networks

Click setup a new network for home or office

next

setup a new wireless network

next

add your SSID, manually assign network key (if you've set on up on the router - if you haven't you'd be wise to), check the WPA encryption box (make sure router is set up the same way)

next

type in network key and repeat (easier with the "hide" box unchecked)

next

select the set up network manually box

next

finished

job done

HTH

Thanks Dellis. Tried your instructions but it looks like I've got a problem similar to Pressurized. Both desktop and laptop won't even show that my network exists so there's no way I can link to them. I'll see if I can get a refund and get some half decent kit!
