I have bought some fog lights and the instructions show that the connections should be made using scotch locks. There is no danger of me using them.

Unless I can come up with another connector I plan to bare the ends, tin and solder the two ends together and heat shrink over the connection.

Is there a better proprietary connector on the market.

I've seen a lot of people use Posi type connectors:

http://www.posi-lock.com/

I used them on my off road bikes here in Mexico and never have had a failure or a problem. They are easy to use and you can re-use them and disconnect them etc... quicker and don't suffer vibration problems or cold joint problems like solder can. They have a pretty useful range of different types including the "tap" type.

Absolutely.

Durite Superseal

IP67 rated, easy to fit and quick disconnect.

Not expensive either.

I have to take a 90 for an MOT right now, but when I get back, I'll dig up a price for you if you like.....I can have a pair delivered in 48 hours.

Ok, my bad, that image wasn't the 2 way superseal connector......

These are though, the M and the F sides, 2 way, Ip67

M plug 0-011-62 £2.24
F socket 0-011-52 £2.40

0-011-52-M.jpg

1.5mm blade connectors, housings and waterproof gaskety type plug things.

£1.00 postage at a rough guess

So £5 delivered to a tosser :thumb2

Does one need a special tool to crimp the cable to these
