Can someone explain / show how I go about getting a power outlet that goes live when I turn the ignition OFF and not live with the ignition is on? Ta.

get a SPDT relay where one output is "normally closed" and then take a 12vdc feed from your tail light (which is always on when the ignition is on) to switch the relay. Basically what will happen is the relay will give you power by default and then switch off when the ignition is switched on

So from the diagram above.

85: to your tail light
86: to the ground of your battery
30: fused power from your battery
87a: to the positive wire of your power outlet
87: just tape it up with electrical tape as it will become live with your ignition on

Then just connect the ground of your power outlet to the ground of the battery

Superb! :thumb2
1 question though, is a SPDT relay just a normal relay?
