Have acquired a clock to fit to my 100GS during its rebuild and just wnated to check on how to wire it in.

I've got the supplementary loom for the rev counter, but it doesn't have any connections for the clock within it.

there's red, grey/black and brown wires coming out of the clock, which Im assuming are:

red - live wire for clock - connect to an "always on" live connection - wiring diag looks like there's a spare fuse in the fuse box for this purpose? unless there is an always on live wire somewhere nearer, eg in headlamp shell

brown - earths for clock and clock lamp - connect to any nearby earth connection

grey/black - live wire for clock lamp - conditionally on with other lamps - connect to nearby grey/black wire for eg speedo lamp

this sound right?

IIRC there's an always live and earth on the ignition switch.

But, when I wired mine in on my '88 100GS the ancient plastics threw a wobbly over being touched and so I had to buy a new ignition switch.

Yup red permanently live stick a wee fuse in even 3 amp is fine if you are going back to the battery in case it chaffs on the frame somewhere

Brown earth

and Grey/black stripe = sidelight live
