Anyone got any pointers, I have a BMW cradle for the Navigator 5 I need to get power into. Any advice gratefully received:beerjug:
thanks

As above - that's what I did.

There are 2 spare feeds tucked away in the headlight cowl - one is live all the time and the other only when the ignition is on. Both are spade type connectors.

Also the SW Motech mount works very well on the 1190 - far better than the KTM one.

you can use the switched feed for sat nav.

I second the above post about motech mounts. Had both.

I have the KTM one, it looks good, but as soon as you move off it gets a bit wobbly, sort of getting used to focussing on a sat-nav that is oscillating at high frequency but if starting from scratch would look elsewhere.

There are two feeds under the headlight, one pair is permanent live, and the other pair is linked to the ignition ... :thumb2

(edit .. I didn't take any panels off other than the black under tray thingy, I just fished around with my fingers until I got them. A bit fiddly. They're roughly located where the fag socket is ..)

I located the ACC2 feed for my sat nav just under the 12v socket... have a rummage and pull them down into view, connect up with Spade Connectors and push the lot back- easy!

If the oaf with hands the size of shovels can do it it must be easy ...

Thanks gents. Went for the SW mount after seeing some of your comments regarding the KTM unit in other threads.

Are those connectors OEM ? if so, the quality looks a bit suspect.

The ACC1 and ACC2 points ( Both here and under the seat in the rear section) are just standard spade connectors. Nothing fancy, but they work!

So does a pair of bare wires twisted together with a bit of insulating tape wrapped around the joint but the quality is still a bit suspect.

I think you are referring to Giles' workmanship here rather than KTM's

Acc2 is a pair of female spade connectors, switched to the ignition... works fine and no need for a £15 canbus plug ala GS.. ( Which incidentally has two bare wires the other end which need connecting to your GPS via Spade/Choc Box/Solder/ twisted together etc.......The difference being?? yes fuck all)

Well 2 years down the line and the acc1 and 2 are still working just fine .. !!
