I am in the process of wiring in my tom tom rider into that socket / connector under the yoke. Now the connector block that fits in has 3 wires for connecting an auxiliary device but the Tom Tom only has 2 leads, how do I know which of the 3 leads match up to the Pos & Neg of the Tom Tom lead ?

Sensible answers in simple terms prefered ta !

WIRES

look on the back of plug block and you will see numbers.
3 +, 2 spare, 1 -

the plug block on the bike.
numbers are tiny so look closely.
if in doubt buy the bmw connector that plugs into it, this will have 3 yellow wires which are numbered.

He's right.

The numbers are tiny, looking like little black marks.

look carefully, they are there.

Thanks for all your help, I do have the proper connector and a friend has just sent me this file which might be handy for others.........

Oops, cant attach it as its too big so have uploaded it HERE

Sell it and get a Garmin Zumo. Tom Tom's can not cope with the vibration or wet. I had one for two weeks in the winter then sold it on ebay to some twerp with a scooter. It kept re-booting and loosing everything.

Zumo great - Tom Tom garbage.

Really?

6 months/9300 miles so far, no problems (and mine isn't even supposed to be waterproof):

All wired in now ta......

I noticed with my magnifying glass that the 3 yellow leads also have the smallest of numbers on that relate to + / -

am now happy.

Been using my tom tom rider for 3 years and its been through many a French storm and always brought me out the other end.
